Masonry Association of Great Britain Welcomes Harlequin Brickwork: A Strong New Addition to the Masonry Industry’s National Network

This month marks an exciting milestone with the announcement that Harlequin Brickwork – one of the UK’s leading specialists in bricklaying and stonework – has officially joined MAGB as its newest member.

A Leading Contractor Joining a Growing National Association

Founded in 2011 and based in Ascot, Harlequin Brickwork has earned an exceptional reputation for precision, professionalism and craftsmanship. With a highly trained workforce and rigorous project management processes, the company delivers a diverse range of projects – from bespoke residential builds and heritage restorations to major commercial schemes and infrastructure developments.

Its notable portfolio includes sensitive brickwork at the historic Royal Air Force Bentley Priory and, more recently, a £3.25 million student accommodation development in Brighton in partnership with Bouygues UK. The Brighton project, completed over 18 months, features a complex concrete frame fully clad in white brickwork and crowned with a distinctive triangular brick roof – now a standout element of the city’s skyline.

MAGB: A New Era for the Masonry Industry

Launched in early 2025, Masonry Association of Great Britain (MAGB) serves as the national trade body for masonry contractors, manufacturers and specialists. Its mission is to unify the masonry supply chain while promoting technical excellence, sustainability and industry best practice.

A key focus for the association is workforce development. Through the newly launched National Masonry Academy and an interconnected network of training hubs across the UK, MAGB is raising industry standards and championing the next generation of masonry professionals.

Shared Values and a Shared Vision

Eve Livett, Chief Executive of MAGB, highlighted how closely aligned Harlequin’s ethos is with the association’s mission, “Harlequin Brickwork’s reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, dedication to high standards and commitment to workforce development aligns perfectly with MAGB’s mission and we are thrilled to welcome them. Each new member strengthens our network, enhances the quality of the industry as a whole, and helps us collectively address key challenges such as skills development, sustainability and industry innovation.”

Billy Sutcliffe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Harlequin Brickwork, echoed this sentiment, “What an absolute pleasure to be able to announce that Harlequin Brickwork Ltd is joining such a forward-thinking Association. I firmly believe that the MAGB will play a pivotal role in the masonry industry in the future. The commitment is there to make a difference to apprenticeships, health and safety, and the quality which our industry continually strives to improve.”

Strengthening the Future of UK Masonry

Membership in MAGB gives organisations access to training opportunities, regulatory guidance, expert resources and a powerful national network. As more respected contractors and manufacturers join the association, MAGB continues to strengthen its ability to support skills development, drive innovation, and advocate for the future of the industry.

As a specialist construction PR agency and leader in built environment communications, NARO is proud to support MAGB with strategic media relations, thought-leadership development and industry storytelling. By amplifying key announcements, securing high-quality trade and national coverage, and positioning MAGB at the heart of conversations shaping the future of construction, we’re helping the association strengthen its voice, increase visibility and build meaningful connections across the sector.
