The Brief:

NARO PR was appointed to deliver a strategic, nationwide PR programme for Oltco, the UK’s leading resin bound surfacing company. The brief focused on two core objectives: building strong awareness of Oltco’s innovative Recycle Bound product through high-quality national and trade media coverage, and supporting the brand’s continued franchise growth by positioning Oltco as a standout franchisor capable of attracting high-calibre franchisees across the UK.

Alongside national brand visibility, it was essential that PR activity also worked at a local level. With a growing franchise network, Oltco required consistent regional and local media support to ensure each franchised area could raise its profile, build credibility and generate enquiries within its own market.

What we did:

As a specialist construction and built environment PR agency with extensive experience across franchising, homes and exteriors, and trade media, NARO developed and delivered a fully integrated PR strategy designed to support Oltco at every level of the business.

At a national and trade level, NARO secured coverage across national news, homes and interiors, construction and specialist trade titles, positioning Oltco as a market leader in sustainable surfacing. Central to this was Recycle Bound, which was consistently pitched as a forward-thinking solution aligned with sustainability, circular economy principles and contemporary exterior design trends.

Franchise growth was supported through targeted franchise PR and a dedicated awards strategy. NARO delivered focused outreach to franchise media to raise awareness of the Oltco franchise opportunity, while also drafting and submitting award entries, including for the BFA Awards 2025. This resulted in Oltco being named a Finalist for Franchisor of the Year – Expanding, significantly enhancing its visibility within the UK franchising sector. In addition, NARO supported an individual franchised area in securing the Young Guns Award at the BFA Awards 2025, further reinforcing the strength and success of the Oltco network.

Local and regional PR played a key role throughout the campaign. NARO worked closely with individual franchisees to secure tailored coverage in regional and local media, helping each area build trust, recognition and authority within its community. While messaging remained consistent nationally, stories were carefully adapted to resonate with local audiences and priorities.

Alongside product and franchise PR, NARO also focused on founder and leadership profiling. The profiles of Oltco founders Tom Stringer and Johnny Pearce were raised through interviews, expert commentary, thought leadership articles and reactive media opportunities. This positioned them as authoritative voices across construction, home improvement and franchising, strengthening Oltco’s credibility at both brand and leadership level.

All activity was underpinned by strategic planning and close collaboration. NARO worked with Oltco to develop a yearly PR strategy, identifying key opportunities across national, regional and franchise media to maximise impact, consistency and return on investment.

The results:

50+ pieces of media coverage secured across national, homes & interiors, construction, trade and franchise titles.
